Overview of Existing Projects

Now we will give a short overview of the predefined projects. Some of them might be missing in some GRAPE libraries, for examples those depending on specific hardware like RGBVideo. The following list is sorted alphabetically, for each project the reference to its documentation in section 8 is given.

Amandus (8.2.6):
Compute parameter-dependent minimal surfaces from their Weierstrass representation. The parameter and domain information are read from a description file and can be edited interactively.
Build (8.2.4):
Surface builder for creating parameter-dependent triangulations from macro patches (triangles and quadrilaterals at the moment). The patch data is read from a description file and can be edited interactively.
Clipping (no documentation)
Curve (8.2.2):
Compute parameter-dependent curves from explicitly given formulas read in from a description file.
Diri (8.2.9):
Combines Build, Refine and Dual to an environment for computing discrete minimal surfaces and their conjugates.
Dual (8.2.7):
The Dirichlet minimizer for computing discrete minimal surfaces and their conjugates. Starting triangulations can for example be created with Build or Explicit.
Explicit (8.2.5):
Compute parameter-dependent surfaces given by explicit formulas. The formulas, parameter and information about the domain are read from a description file and can be edited interactively.
Grid_Edit (8.1.2.2)
House (no documentation):
Demo project, see section 4.3.3.
Images (8.3.2.1):
Internal project used by RGBVideo, it implements the file handling.
Model (8.3.1):
``Hard'' transformation of geometries. In contrast to the surface menu or the scene transformations the object's point coordinates are transformed.
Move_Trace (8.1.1)
Probe (8.1.3)
Refine (8.2.8):
Interactive refinement, included are methods to refine regions of high Gaussian curvature, the boundary or the area inside a ball.
RGBVideo (8.3.2):
Project for creating bitmap files of arbitrary size and video sequences. Only available on IRIS GL capable machines at the moment.
Scene_Tree (8.3.4):
Data hierarchy viewer, very useful when working with large hierarchies, especially for GRAPE novices.
Surface (8.2.3):
Basic project for working with parameter-dependent surfaces. Several geometries can be handled at the same time, the parameter are read from a description file.
Time_Object (8.2.1):
Basic project for working with parameter-dependent geometries. The parameter are read from a description file.
Tr2d_Edit (8.1.2.1)
