Project Time-Object

This project provides the basic environment for working with time-dependent objects, most projects described in the following sections are based on it. Adding project Time-Object or one of its subproject will install a user-interface in the option menu and add an object of the corresponding class to the data hierarchy.

Since description files are used to define parameter, domains, surface patches etc. most of these projects don't require any programming. There are two exceptions: creating Time-Objects requires to write a "compute-send" method and for Amandus the functions for the Weierstrass representation formula have to be written as C functions.

The geometry of a Time_Object is arbitrary (its class only has to define a "get-object" method) therefore the user has to provide the "compute-send" method (compare 7.4.1.5) to allocate the memory for it and to create the data or to read it in. An example for a description file and the corresponding "compute-send" method can be found in section 8.2.1.3.
