The functions for creating videos or bitmap files of arbitrary size are collected in sometimes very platform specific projects, like video (video functions, using an IRIX utility), rgbvideo (create arbitrary sized bitmaps or bitmap file sequence videos on (for now) GL graphic) or LVR (locally written for one special laser video recorder).
