Additionally to merging all geometries by calling the superclass
method (7.4.3.8) all sfbuild rulers are deactivated
-- recomputing a Surface_Build instance after merging it is not
possible.

Compute parameter lines for a Surface_Build instance. This method
must be called before "merge-send" or "close-send" because it
needs the geometry structure created from the build_parm data
to be able to find the correct points for the parameter lines.
