"read-data" reads in the Surface_Build description file
path/name.bd -- all Surface_Build description
files should have the extension *.bd returned by
"get-extension" -- where name is the name of the sfbuild
instance. Depending on the point and patch data read from the file some
rulers might be created and added to the option menu of the manager.
The default method for the rulers is "parameter-changed"
(see 7.4.1.5) therefore changing a ruler will
recompute sfbuild for the new data.

XDR * xdrp
Read the sfbuild instance from or write it to the XDR stream
xdrp. This method should not be called directly, refer
to 5.7 (especially 5.7.3) for details.
