The most important device is the graphic device, which enables you to view your mathematical objects. The typical output of a graphic device is the graphic window an interactive GRAPE program starts with. The graphic device has functions to draw different type of patches, lines and some predefined objects, all in 3D-coordinates. The device will adapt these functions to your machines hardware possibilities. For example the postscript output of GRAPE is also realized as a graphic device.
