The primary objective is to retain and even enhance important features such as surface edges and corners. Two alternative approaches are presented. On the one hand an anisotropic geometric diffusion problem is discussed which respects edge features and in addition incorporates tangential smoothing along noisy edges. On the other hand we formulate an anisotropic energy, where the local energy integrand reflects detected geometric features. Furthermore new discretizations of anisotropic curve and surface evolution are presented.}, pdf = {http://numod.ins.uni-bonn.de/research/papers/public/ClDzRu03.pdf} }
