Displaying Data Hierarchies

In order to understand the basic concept how the data is displayed in the graphics window you need to know more about the class Scene. An instance of the class scene contains all information that is necessary to present your geometry. Besides a reference to the geometry a scene contains information about the surface properties and positioning of the object. By having a look at the surface and lighting menu of the manager you can easily find out how these different parameters change the appearance of your geometry. You can combine scenes to a linked list or a binary tree. If you want to display a number of copies of your object with different display methods or properties you can make copies (of the scenes, the object doesn't change). A subclass of Scene is Chain, the methods on chain assume to find a linear structure. In case you need time dependent objects please refer to the next section.
