Triangulations And Refinement Methods

In GRAPE a triangulation can be created by just calling interactive methods within the manager. There are many methods to manipulate triangulations, techniques like cutting holes, local refinement and merging triangulations are available. So you can create a complex triangulation which then can be used for example as a starting triangulation for some numeric methods. The basic structures for triangulations are the classes called Triang2d and Triang3d for two respectively three dimensional triangulations. There exist many display methods to present your triangulation in the graphics window: you can display the triangulation in both grid and patch mode, special methods allow you for example to display those elements with the spatial angles within two bounds or to display a layer of triangles whose centers lie in a layer surrounding a certain plane. An interpolation method allows you to interpolate between two given triangulations with the same discretization. Besides that there exist functions to read in and to write triangulations for external use. To get a complete overview have a look at the classes in sections 6.3 and 6.4.
